My HUAWEI watch/band cannot be charged
| My HUAWEI watch/band cannot be charged |
- If your watch/band cannot be fully charged (for example, it can only be charged to 70%–80% of the battery level), or the battery level drops abnormally fast after charging, or the watch/band cannot be powered on after being removed from the charging base, there may be a hardware issue. In this case, you are advised to back up your data, and take your watch/band, proof of purchase, and the charging cable and charger to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance.
- If your watch/band cannot be powered on, refer to here.
If your watch/band cannot be charged or the charging speed is slow, perform the following steps:
Check whether the charging accessories meet the requirements
- Use the wireless charging base or charging cable that comes with the product to charge the device. If you use a non-standard charging base or charging cable, your wearable may heat up, charge slowly, or fail to charge.
- It is recommended that you use a HUAWEI charger, or use a wireless charging base and charger that comply with relevant safety regulations and standards. If you use the USB port on a computer or power strip, or use a non-HUAWEI wireless charging base and charger that have not been certified and do not comply with safety regulations, your device may fail to charge or even be damaged.
- If the first charging attempt fails, try unplugging and replugging in the charger and cable, then charge again. If that doesn't work, try using a different charger to rule out any issues with the charger or charging protocol.
- For the HUAWEI WATCH Buds, when you charge the watch using a computer's USB port or a power strip's USB port, the earbuds will charge first. This means the watch's battery may not increase or will charge very slowly, which is normal.
- Check whether the charging accessories are damaged (for example, the charging cable and charging port). If so, replace the charging cable, charging base, or power adapter with another one (HUAWEI original products are recommended).
Check whether the charging status of the watch/band is normal
- The charging effect of the watch wireless charging base or band/kid watch charging cable may be affected if the surface is dirty or contains metal materials. In this case, you can:
- Before charging the watch, remove the protective cover of the charging base and wipe the surface with a clean soft cloth to ensure that there are no foreign objects or dirt between the watch and the charging base.
- Before charging the band/kid watch, clean the metal charging contacts on the charging cable to ensure that there are no foreign objects or dirt between the band/kid watch and the charging contacts.
- If the wireless charger coil/charging contacts are not aligned with the device, or if there is any misalignment, it can lead to lower charging efficiency, abnormal heating, or poor contact that prevents charging. In this case, adjust the coil/contacts and ensure that they are securely attached.

Avoid charging or using the device in extreme environments
- Charging your wearable in a very hot or very cold place will activate the temperature protection feature of your device. This feature, designed to protect your device, will interfere with charging, causing it to slow down or even fail. It is recommended that you charge your device in a normal room temperature environment, keep it away from heat sources, and do not cover the device while it is charging.
- The charging cable/wireless charging base attaches to the wearable using magnets. A strong magnetic environment (such as when there is a nuclear magnetic resonance machine or an electromagnetic crane around) may weaken the magnets or reverse the polarity. As a result, the device and the charging cable/wireless charging base cannot attach, and even repel each other. It is recommended that you charge away from such environments.
If the charging base cannot attach to your watch/band or repels it, replace the charging base (HUAWEI original products are recommended).
Do not leave your wearable device unused for a long time
- If your wearable device has not been used for more than three months, or if it is powered off due to low battery level and is not charged in time, the battery may be overdischarged. In this case, you may need to charge the device for a longer time to activate the battery.
- It is recommended that you charge your wearable device regularly when you are not using it. If the battery is overdischarged, connect the device to the charging base or charging cable, and wait for the charging icon or battery level to display.
If the issue persists
If the issue persists, the battery or other hardware components may be faulty. In this case, back up your data and take your watch/band, proof of purchase, and the charging cable and charger to an authorized Huawei Customer Service Center for assistance. We will do our best to address your needs.
